Penkov, Markov & Partners Law Firm presented its concept of energy efficiency and resources saving within the framework of the European Energy Conservation Initiative - Young Energy Europe on 19.11.2018 before the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce. This initiative is realised for the first time in Bulgaria. It involves young professionals from different spheres, having role of the so called “energy scouts”, who take part in trainings, focused on energy and resource efficiency and mobility, investigate energy consumption in the companies, where they work in, and develop resource-saving ideas.

In their project, called "Results from the energy efficiency of law firms", Vyara Tomova and Boris Lazarov – attorneys at law and energy scouts, and their mentor - Alexander Stefanov -  partner, presented the vision of Penkov, Markov and Partners Law Firm for achieving energy efficiency in office premises and improving of work environment. Energy efficiency has been a key value in the management policy of the firm for a very long time, as the management, represented by Mr. Vladimir Penkov, took an active part in the project development.

In terms of saving energy resources, following main targets were set before the law firm: choosing of an office building with a double façade, which provides isolation against extreme temperatures, wind and noise, construction of a separate ventilation and air conditioning system of highest energy class, replacement of halogen and luminiscent lamps with LED lamps and, last but not least, installation of computer equipment of highest energy class.

The attorneys at law presented the results from the achieved targets so far, which accomplishment began still in 2011. At the current moment, Penkov, Markov & Partners Law Firm has managed to reduce the annual electricity consumption by 30% and to reduce the carbon emissions released on an annual basis by more than 85 tons.
