2018 Legal Firm of the Year — Penkov, Markov & Partners

In the presence of more than 200 distinguished lawyers and magistrates from all parts of Bulgaria, the National Justice Awards ceremony took place on 24 November 2018 at a glamorous event during the Lawyers’ Charity Ball. At the awards ceremony, Penkov, Markov & Partners won the prestigious 2018 Law Firm of the Year award.

The distinction comes as a recognition of the excellent organisation and working conditions, high professional standards and corporate ethics at the law firm—a strong incentive for lawyers and all personnel and well-deserved recognition of the high standard of professionalism and dedication to providing a first-rate service to clients.

Penkov, Markov & Partners was chosen to receive the award in steep competition with law firms from all parts of Bulgaria.

The distinction was received by Vladimir Penkov, attorney-at-law, President and Senior Partner at Penkov, Markov & Partners, who in his acceptance speech recognised the contribution of all his colleagues to this highest award.

The 2018 Young Lawyer of the Year award went to our colleague, the young lawyer Asen Apostolov, for his work during the last year in business, banking and financial law, FinTech services and virtual assets.

The focus of the campaign was the charity fund-raising campaign for children with cerebral palsy some of whom were present at the event with their families. The charity raffle organised at the end of the ceremony raised almost 9000 BGN in purchased paintings and attendance fees, with Mr. Vladimir Penkov purchasing two paintings himself.

The paintings were donated by the painters Ivan Yahnadzhiev, Desi Dimitrova, Silvy Basseva, Iliya Zhelev and Nikolay Yanakiev.

One of the most memorable moments from the ceremony was the gesture of the granddaughter of Zlatyu Boyadzhiev who donated to the professional panel of judges, comprising Professor Ognyan Gerdzhikov, Professor Sasho Penov and the special guest of the event Martin Pradel, four paintings drawn during the Charity Ball.
