Penkov, Markov & Partners Law Firm Held the First Online Legal Forum in Bulgaria

Penkov, Markov & Partners Law Firm held the first online legal forum in our country on the topic "The Specialists Talk: COVID-19 and the New Business Rules". The leading experts of the law firm presented a professional analysis on current issues related to the latest legal changes in support of business in the country in the context of a pandemic. At the same time, they emphasized on the challenge of taking effective actions to deal with the pandemic related to the restriction of rights and freedoms, but in strict compliance with the constitution and democratic procedures.

"The situation in which not only Bulgaria but the whole of Europe is currently is very dynamic. The business is facing a major crisis and employers are in a difficult position. It is important for us to be aware that it is very difficult to recover a stopped or destroyed business and that it is more efficient to support it effectively” commented Vladimir Penkov, Chairman and Senior Partner of Penkov, Markov & Partners. "That's why it's crucial that the government acts as a partner of the business and takes a look at the situation from their point of view.  The business will manage to cope with the crisis only with clear, fast and ultimate measures” added Nikolay Cvetanov, Managing Partner of Penkov, Markov & Partners.

Lawyers Vladimir Penkov and Nikolay Cvetanov, along with Radost Georgieva, labor law specialist at Penkov, Markov & Partners, were the main speakers at the forum. They presented the latest legal changes related to Covid-19 in our country and analyzed whether the economic measures taken were sufficient, the changes in the labor law, and the ineffectiveness of the measure 60/40 from a business point of view.

The unique event was attended by 70 people, representatives and members of some of the largest business and employers' organizations in the country, such as - Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce, Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum, KRIB, AmCham, Austrian Business Club, United Business Clubs and more, as well as representatives of the legal sector, international and local companies, diplomats and the media.

The first legal forum in the country aroused strong interest and the quality and content of the meeting were highly appreciated by the participants.
